Your girl done made it

So I received word from Paula with AIFW that I will be her Executive Assistant throughout this event. I AM SOOOOOOOO GEEKED! This is such a good look, for me and my wonderful city.

I have a team that consists of two other ladies whom I emailed last night. This Sunday the entire AIFW staff will be meeting as a group and I am so looking forward to meeting the Director and the rest of my teammates. I really feel like this is the start of something grand. Hopefully she will want me to work with her on other events if she is satisfied with my work, but then again, why wouldn't she be.

Go head, baby girl , go head

So as I type this I have Gucci Mane playin in the background for inspiration. Now now now, just where do I begin? ight...I got it, June 16 2008, a couple of my fabulous friends and myself attended the Milk and Honey Birthday Celebration for Nicole Garner of the Garner Circle. Now when I say she is doing her thang, the girl is doing her thang! Anyway, the event was at Luckie Lounge and it was FABULOUS. So my friends and I looked like money as we wasped through the place in our interpretations of milk and honey (white and gold) I swear we were the only ones in those colors so you know we stood out. Anyway, David Banner was there for his album release and when I say I got the best hug ever...umm umm umm...and to top it off he gave me the sweetest little angel cake kiss on my right temple...it was magical. Now I know that statement makes me sound something like a groupie but actually I am just excited by strong black men! Well anyway Pastor Troy was there along with Mannie Fresh and the lamest of all lames, Young Berg, who by the way spent the majority of the night looking at himself in the mirror and left the venue in a 2001 black ford explorer! So anyway we sipped and danced all night long, until 3:00am to be exact even though we all had to be to work by 8:00am...but hey you live only once!

So overall that night was a success! The only thing that could have made it better is if JT had been able to come so that he could meet Ms. Nicole because she is definitely the plug to most major events in the city. There will be other chances though!

Enough about him

...what about me. Well that may be what you are asking yourself. No need for me to get into formal names just know that I am mE! Anyway, I have been working on my own stuff too...a woman has to take care of herself too you know! So, I submitted my information to Atlanta International Fashion Week in an effort to nab one of the MANY volunteer positions they have available. Well, I heard back from them and they have extended the opportunity, pending that I can get 3 professional references. Who knew you needed all that to be a volunteer. Well, I will give the people what they want so stay tuned as this one develops!

What a difference a day makes

So yesterday i told ya'll that he booked the Nya Nya event at the Bronner Bros. hair show, congrats to him! When he told me that, immediately I thought "I should check Bronner Bros. site to see if they need male models". So I did and guess what, they do (need male models). So this morning I emailed the event coordinator and expressed interest in participating in the event. Well, this afternoon she responded and invited him for a casting/interview..hell yeah!! So they will be holding the casting call this Sunday, July 13, and HE WILL BE THERE! This gig is better than the Nya Nya gig because this money is guaranteed unlike the commission based pay they are offering. Now this Sunday he also has to attend practice for the Atlanta International Fashion Show too; but the great thing is that Bronner Bros starts @ 3pm and AIFW starts @ 6pm so this means that he can do both!

I will let you know what happens next!!

Girls gone wild

yeah so you know he went on head and bagged the Nya Nya Couture gig. Word on the street is that he had 'em fallin out like asian chicks at a Michael Jackson concert...man down!! :) Anyway this is a good look cause its a paid gig, comission based but still paid. One step at a time!

Today is the day

...for the Nya Nya Couture casting. He is scheduled to meet with them this evening. Wish him luck!

In other news, today we were approved for a Talent Soup account. This is great because this will be an excellent resource for television of all sorts (modeling, commercials, acting, etc.). I plan on maxing this one out. Oh yeah, I may have forgotten to mention that he can act too, well I have never seen him in a formal role but he a character on a regular day, lol! He really is a modern day renaissance man.

Oh yeah, and yesterday evening Explore Talent called because they have some castings that they are interested in submitting him for, ain't it grand!!

So we have just been contacted by Nya Nya Couture and they want him to attend a casting call. They are looking for male models to use as spokesmodels for one of their events. This one is a good look because it is a paid gig. I am keeping my fingers crossed, I hope he gets it!

It could just be me....

....but it seems that alot of male models are requesting him as a friend. Sending one liner emails and then more followups...what's that about? I don't think model mayhem is a dating site and he is the STRAIGHTEST guy I have ever met. So ummmm...sorry fellas but this one is off limits and BTW have you ever seen what women will do for a man they are digging....check this out!

They just tried me!

Aight, so we have been getting quite a few hits on Model Mayhem. When i say "hits" i mean solicitations, friend requests and just general compliments on what BlacLyon has to offer. I mean if the common folk see it then why wouldn't the big timers? A few of the solicitations have been some straight B.S. I mean come one, you(talent scout) are in the UK talkin bout payin $1000 for a shoot here in the A then he is REQUIRED to return to the UK to sign a contract....RIGHT!!! Come on folks, ya'll really think imma set homeboy out like that...no way! Sounds like a possible slave trade or P.O.W. situation. I know we aren't at war with the UK but how do I even know that they are in the UK? Alright, let me stop with the conspiracy theories. Anyway check him out on model mayhem and be liberal with the comments.

We received notification that he will be representing Atlanta International Fashion Week 2008! I knew he could do it. I am trippin on this because we have only been at this for about 1 good week and he has his first booking, AWESOME! This week of events is scheduled to run July 23 - 27, 2008 with the main show at the Georgia World Congress Center. This is so major!

On June 28, 2008, we received an invitation to attend an exclusive model call for the Atlanta International Fashion Week 2008 extravaganza
To present a professional image I knew he, JT, had to have a portofolio (port) for the panel to review. Using all available resources and some creativity I was able to produce one that shows his diversity and natural ability. I am so excited for him, do the damn thang!

Protostar---the birth of a star!

It all started wiith one fabulous event on June 22, 2008. I was invited to attend a glamorous rooftop fashion show here in Atlanta, GA. While observing the various models, I was captivated by a friend of mine as he commanded the runway with his presence, swag and overall shine! At that moment I knew what had to be done...make JT the star that he is destined to be. I pitched the idea to him, certain to convey my excitement, and he agreed that as a collective we could make it happen. So here we are BlacLyon .
